Cuzco, Peru

Cuzco is the historical capital of Peru, once the capital of the Inca Empire and a base for many to trek to Machu Picchu. Its dramatic Andes terrain creates incredible mountainous vistas, and there are plenty of temples and ruins to get lost in.

For an unforgettable night’s sleep, Skylodge Adventure Suites are set on a cliff face at the top of a 1200ft mountain reached only by hiking 400 metres through zip lines. You can enjoy a gourmet dinner on top of your pod before settling in to your own transparent bedroom complete with 300 degree views of Sacred Valley, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cuzco airport, a short drive from the centre of town, can be reached on a 1hr10 flight from Lima international airport.

Udaipur, India

One of the most romantic cities in India, Udaipur in Rajasthan is built around 7 tranquil lakes complete with their own floating palaces. Must-see places to visit include City Palace, now a museum, luxury hotel and private residence of the Maharana of Udaipur and Jagmandir Island Palace for dinner or a spa treatment with an outstanding view.

If you’re looking for the ultimate experience, you can even stay at one of the floating palaces, only accessible by private boat. It’s also one of the best shopping destinations in the country exporting handicrafts such as rugs, paintings, marble, silver and ceramics.

The city centre is a 45 minute drive from Udaipur airport which can be reached on a 1hr30 flight from either Mumbai or Delhi international airports.

Tanzania, East Africa

Home to Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania has the unique combination of beautiful beaches, extraordinary wildlife and thrilling adventure. One of the best places to spot the Big Five in the Serengeti or Ruaha National Park, Tanzania also offers boat safaris amongst crocodiles down the Rufiji river.

For a change of pace, the palm tree lined sandy beaches on the Indian Ocean offer unrivalled sunsets and Swahili culture or if you fancy getting back to nature, you can spend a few days tracking Chimpanzees in the Mahale Mountains.

More remote towns and cities can be reached by short internal flights or tours from Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Reykjavik, Iceland

Cinematic landscapes, unusual cuisine and unique spa experiences are just some of what Iceland has to offer.

A visit to this distinctive island would not be complete without a dip in a geothermal lagoon, trek across a glacier or a night under the Northern Lights. Not to forget the opportunity to peer in to one of the 30 active volcanoes.

This country really does offer it all when it comes to a honeymoon. Due to its positioning at the top of the globe, Iceland is the perfect place to go on a voyage of discovery in a country unlike anywhere else in the world.

You will land at Keflavik International Airport, with the rest of the country accessed from smaller domestic airports or private tours.

Puglia, Italy

Puglia, in the heel of Italy’s boot, is a newly discovered vacation destination, and honestly we’re surprised it’s taken this long. Still inherently Italian, Puglia offers delicious regional cuisine such as Orecchiette pasta, fresh fish, olive oil, and Taralli (small, circular crackers) as well as white sand beaches, acres of ancient olive and almond groves and charming, untouched villages.

You could spend an entire day exploring the quaint Alberobello (a UNESCO World Heritage town) still largely represented by the iconic Trulli, cone-shaped buildings and white washed stone huts. Don’t forget to stop by the picturesque and Instagram favourite town of Polignano a Mare for the rocky coves and views from the cliff tops.

Fly into Bari International Airport and rent a car for the duration of your trip to access hidden gems off the beaten track.
