Resolutions to Revamp Your Sex Life in 2019

As the New Year begins, you’ll be working on getting fit, changing your career and other life goals. However, is your sex life red hot or lukewarm? Whether you’re single or in a relationship, physical intimacy is important.

Statistics show that half of all Americans have sex at least once a week. This seems positive, but are people enjoying sex? If you want to add some spice to your sex life, check out these resolutions to revamp your sex life in 2019.

Care for Yourself

People often think that taking care of themselves means getting fit and healthy. This is an important part of your overall wellbeing, but it’s more complicated than that. If you’ve heard sayings about loving yourself before others will love you, you’ll know that confidence and self-esteem are keys to inner happiness.

It’s important for you to deal with any issues you have and focus on self-improvement. If you don’t feel sexy in your own skin, then you won’t feel sexy to others. Physical intimacy requires honesty and trust, which is impossible if you’re feeling under confident or insecure.

Know Yourself and Share

Sex is different for everyone and it’s hard to know what others like. Whether you’re in a relationship or single, communicating your wants and needs with a partner is important.  Think about what arouses you and ask your partner to do it. You should also find out what you like on your own, and share with your partner. Don’t be shy, this is what intimacy is all about!

It’s Not All about Sex

Remember when you first met? There was all that anticipation and suspense. Fast-forward a few years and you know when you’ll have sex, how, and where it will happen! Sounds dull right? One of the biggest problems couples face is focusing on sex and not making time for intimacy. Cuddling on the sofa or kissing will bring you closer and ignite that much-needed spark your relationships been missing.

Single women should also consider waiting before jumping into bed with their new man. Studies have shown that couples who wait have a better sex life later on in their relationship. Enjoy the flirting, kissing and anticipation, which will create a stronger bond and attraction.

Switch It Up

Keeping sex in the bedroom can get a big boring. One great way to spice things up is experimenting in different rooms. Take a bath together, or enjoy a long shower. Sit in the car and make out to add some intensity to your relationship. Don’t focus on getting physical, think about going on dates, dancing and doing the things you do in the first stages of the relationship.

Carve out couple time

If you’ve got children, it can be easy to fall out of the habit of creating time for intimacy. And like all things, the less you create that time, the less you miss it. You could try creating set monthly date nights where you and your significant other get a babysitter and allow yourselves some one-on-one time doing the things you loved before parenthood. Book a hotel room, order room service, take a long bath together….and then simply let the magic happen!

Be Creative

There are so many ways to revamp your sex life. Talk about your fantasies and think about what you want. Roleplay can lead you to some very interesting scenarios and don’t be afraid to experiment with sex toys.

Single women should step out of their comfort zone. Whether it’s getting physical with someone that’s not your type, or trying new things with someone you’re dating, it’s healthy to test your boundaries. Here are some great roleplay tips.

Free Your Mind

So many things happen in our daily lives, it’s hard to keep track. Work schedules, kids and general problems can take over your mind and make it difficult to relax. If you lay in bed mentally checking off your to-do-list then you know it’s time to make changes.

Set some time each week to go through things and discuss your worries with a partner or friends. This way you can keep daily situations out of the bedroom and focus on enjoying yourself.

Set The Scene

To enjoy sex, you need to feel sexy. It’s common for people to stop thinking about sexy lingerie when they’re single or in long-term relationships, but it does wonders for both parties with sex. Buy some seductive perfume, give each other massages and don’t be afraid to take your time.

Now you’ve got some ideas about how to revamp your sex life in 2019, it’s time to put them into practice. Enjoy yourself, experiment and remember that sex is a healthy part of every adult’s life.
